Hi Ohio.

We’re finally here just landed the plane.

It’s easy to tell where I am —I cracked open a beer in the van. Telling stories flat land ahead. I didn’t think I missed this place but maybe just maybe I did a little bit.

Tomorrow apple butter. Stay tuned,

-really tall Chris

I feel bad for AT&T

You know I do feel bad for ATT.

I mean like I’ve said pre-iphone I’ve always loved AT&T Let’s take Sprint. Great coverage now right? But if 5 million people started using Sprint and downloading more shit than anyone EVER has on a cell network wouldn’t we see the same scrambling and problems to meet exponential demand? I think so.

AT&T took on two huge things no one else had:

1) It let the phone development company decide everything about how the phone worked what it did what it looked like. NO ONE had done that before. In the past phone developers had to cater to the carrier who held ultimate veto power.

2) They allowed internet-heavy software development on the phone.

I mean before my iphone I ONLY sent SMS…..most other people I know did too so take people like me, like you, who previously didn’t really use internet at all and then gave them internet all-the-time, gave them great applications that make them want to BE online all the time and then say ready set…….0 to 1 million in a day. Is their service good now? No, but is it reasonable to see why they are scrambling to catch up? Hell yes.

Here’s a video on AT&T upgrades AKA PR Rush. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5yIVgj0VVA&feature=player_embedded

Hi Starbucks. I’m disappointed to hear about your “policy” to not allow me to reuse my own disposable cup for coffee. When I was told I could not use my cup I asked if it was a sanitation requirement of SF and was told no, “No we don’t allow our coffee to be in other companies’ cups.” Can I bring my own travel mug? “Yes.” But I can’t use this one which is white, made of recycled paper and is completely blank with NO logo? “No.” I Live in SF I am very conscience of what I consume, if Starbucks does not support my desire to reduce packaging I use and-worse makes it inconvenient for me to do so on my own I probably will just use one of the many “small coffee houses” around the city. While having this discussion I realized Starbucks could do much more to be “Eco-friendly!” Where are the recycle bins? Where are signs encouraging people to bring their own cups? Or use less napkins? Stating that your products are partially recycled but forcing people through policy to consume the same quantity of it because of an “advertising policy” is just not enough! And if it helps to add any clout I’m a 26 year old urban male, not a past generation SF hippie, in fact I’d imagine that I am in the demographic that has the greatest potential to support your economic growth through out the years. Incidentally I’ve forwarded these comments along with a photo of the “cup incident” to Noe Valley Bakery the warm and loving local business whom provided me with my original morning coffee. They may not support a direct link to iTunes from my iPhone, but they do have a sign prominently placed that says, “remember napkins come from trees”
